This unique Side Handle Tea Pot is made from Purion Clay and comes to us from Lins' Ceramic Studio in Taiwan. The master artists at Lin's have been hard at work since 1983, so they know what they are doing when it comes to making tea ware. This particular teapot is one of only 500 that were made.

Purion is a unique and secret combination of minerals and clay that only Lin's Ceramics produces. It is said to have a "softening" or "mellowing out" effect on teas that may otherwise be more bitter or harsh. Because this clay is semi-porous it is great for brewing darker Oolongs and Puerh Teas.

The Side Handle design of this teapot makes it perfect for meditative bowl tea sessions. It's smaller size is great for personal use or 2-3 people. It is also a great size and weight for practicing serving a bowl tea ceremony, before moving on to larger and heavier pots.

Pair it with our Purion Clay Tea Boat for a beautiful set.

Material:
Purion Clay

Dimensions:
5 inches x 6.9 inches x 3.1 inches (12.8cm x 17.7cm x 8.1cm)

Capacity:
11oz / 330ml

Care Instructions:
Hand wash only using hot water. Never, ever, ever use soap on your clay tea ware. This clay is meant to absorb tea, so discoloration is normal after time. Make sure to keep the lid off until everything is completely dry. Do not put on direct heat, and do not microwave.

Preparing the Teapot:
1. Before using the teapot for the first time, wash it inside and out with clean, warm water.
2. Boil some water in a large pot. Gently wrap the teapot, without the lid, in a wash cloth or small towel.
3. Very gently place the teapot into the boiling water and let it boil for 10 minutes. The cloth is there to protect the teapot from bouncing or hitting the metal of the pot. If this is happening, adjust, otherwise the pot could break. Do the same with the lid.
4. Carefully remove the lid and pot from the boiling water. Rinse well and let dry. Your teapot is now ready to use.
