Wild Jujube, or Gan Zao Ye as it is known in China, has been used for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The fruits are considered Qi tonics and are used to build strength and energy. Lesser known outside of China are the leaves of this wonderful plant which have been used to improve sleep, and enhance calm.
These leaves were wild harvested in the spring of 20211 at an elevation of 500 meters from the hillsides of Laoshan. It was then hand processed in the same style as a green tea to create a unique expression of flavors similar to that of genmaicha-starting with a roasted/toasted flavor and moving into more sweet notes.
We have limited qualities available this year, and once it's gone there wont be anymore until next spring.
This tea can be brewed "Western Style" or Gong Fu. Experiment and see which you prefer
