This beautiful oolong tea comes to us from the protected Wuyishan Ecological Reserve in Fujian, China. It is hand picked and hand processed with a special 12 hour technique known as yaoqing, where the tea leaves are flipped, fluffed, and rested on weaved bamboo trays. Many modern oolong manufactures do this with machines, which greatly affects the Cha Qi, or Tea Energy. When done by hand, the energy and the tea leaves themselves are far superior.
This variety of Oolong tea is known as Qilan, which can be translated as Rare Orchid, and refers to the floral tastes and aromas that can be found in this tea.
Like our Monk's Robe, this tea is also a famous Wuyi Oolong with a unique mineral quality that can only be found from tea grown in the Wuyi mountains.
It is highly recommended to brew this tea Gong Fu style over many, many steepings to truly enjoy all that it has to offer.
